Grace is a complex topic in Christianity and it can have many meanings, depending on context. The purpose of this article is to clarify what it is not.

Example

Grace means you get something you do not deserve

This is an intelligible and legitimate meaning for grace. God decided to send priests and prophets, which produced the Bible, to bring truth about Himself and salvation to all mankind. God did not have to do this, but He did it anyway.

What grace is not

Grace means that I will not get punished

The concept of being under damnation or being punished requires the concept of Good, the concept of Sin, and the concept of Justice. A person has deviated from the Good, knowingly and it was within his power to do otherwise.

Since God is Holy, he is always true to Himself and His Good nature. God demands that everyone does His will, and He will always punish sin and rebellion.

Therefore, it is simply a strong delusion to ever say that "I will not get punished", since God exists, God knows everything, and nobody can escape from God.

Jesus forgives my sins

This line is deeply rooted within Christianity. Anyone who has said it is an idiot. Anyone who reads this article, and still continues to say it, is completely insane.

What actually happens when people spread this lie.

  • They refer to Jesus, who is part of the Holy Trinity, and therefore Lord and God
  • They deny that God punishes every sin, therefore denying the Lordship of Jesus
  • By doing this, they proclaim themselves atheists, they deny the 1st Commandment
  • Without God, there is no Good, therefore denying the existence of Good and Evil and even the concept of their own sin
  • They think they have the authority to sit above Jesus and proclaim something in His name, substituting themselves for God the Father
  • They decide not to punish themselves for evil that does not exist in their world
  • They decide to punish Jesus for their own wickedness, which means they are sadists who enjoy torturing innocents

This is completely and utterly insane thinking that has perverted Christianity. The solution is that

Jesus punishes you for your own sins

and anyone claiming otherwise is a delusional heretic, even if he is the Pope, or your local pastor.
